NCR paper, or ncr carbonless paper, is a specially designed coated paper used to transfer information on the upper layer of paper to the lower layer of paper without the use of carbon paper. It usually consists of multiple layers of paper, with the back of the top layer of paper coated with pressure-sensitive microcapsules containing chemicals. The second paper, underneath the top paper on the back of the coating, is also coated with a separate mixture of chemicals, and when these chemicals come into contact with the chemicals on the second paper , color transfer occurs.
